With over 35 known species—including Copaifera officinalis, Copaifera langsdorffii, and Copaifera reticulata—these leguminous trees have long been revered across South America. The oil’s main active component, beta-caryophyllene, is a powerful sesquiterpene known for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
