Our organically crafted Armoise Essential Oil, also known as White Wormwood Essential Oil, is steam-distilled from the leaves and flowering tops of the Artemisia herba-alba shrub, indigenous to Morocco. This resilient plant, referred to as Armoise herbe blanche in French, features hairy, silvery leaves and thrives even in arid conditions. The Artemisia genus comprises approximately 300 species found across northern temperate regions, South Africa, and South America. Beyond their ornamental appeal, many Artemisia species have been traditionally utilized in folk medicine for addressing intestinal issues, serving as topical antiseptics, and managing diabetes.

Reported Benefits and Uses

Armoise Essential Oil emits a fresh, cool, highly diffusive, bittersweet-camphoraceous aroma with soft green undertones. While its scent is notably penetrating initially, it mellows after a few minutes of exposure to air. In natural perfumery, Armoise can be employed in trace amounts to provide lift to top note accords, impart a fresh, green naturalness, and accentuate other green notes such as Galbanum, Common and White Sage, and Rosemary.

When used in highly diluted topical applications, Armoise Essential Oil may offer calming effects during stressful and emotional situations. It is also uplifting and mentally clearing, helping to reduce negative thoughts and feelings.

Safety Considerations

Due to its significant content of monoterpene ketones, including camphor and alpha- and beta-thujone, Armoise Essential Oil should be used with great care and respect. It is recommended to limit topical applications to a maximum dilution of 0.25%.
